Standards

Nursing is predominantly a practice based discipline and the purpose of theory is to inform practice and be in term informed by the practice.

Increasingly Nursing as a profession aspires to the notion of a thinking nurse. That is a nurse who does not carry tasks mindlessly but also think carefully about what he or she is doing and then act wisely in the best interest of the client.

In order to facilitate the nurse in his/her practice and to keep pace with ever changing technique in the process of providing care , the Nursing Council is coming with a list of key standards for the practice of nursing. It is expected that in a near future there will be enough Nursing Standards on the website of the Council. This is to help nurses to acquire the necessary guidelines and be as far as possible within established norms while giving care to service users.
